A Few Words
Not The Best, But Good Enough
It's been a while, isn't it?
No, not that I have been silenced, deliberately or otherwise.
No, not that I have turned my back on journalling and providing this little bit of reading for the few visitors I have on this site.
It is just that I have been away and it is during this absence that AOT turned 4.
It has been 4 years of joy and pain. A 4-year journey of sorts to find out more about myself and more importantly, my life. I was not a willing sojourner at first, but walk on, I must, because there were no other options.
On 13 June 2005, AOT, in its various guises, turned 4. Four tumultuous years and I have become a spectactor of the explosion of the local journalling/blog scene. Seeking fame has never been on my agenda when this site was set up. Pandering to a readership, yes. Yet, there was never once when I caved in to join the hordes which have single-handedly ushered and celebrated the days of the celebrity blog or bloggers.
Interestingly, the data in my old hard disk was recovered. This meant that those old AOT entries, dating back to 2001, are still intact. I have archived them in a safe place, under "lock and key". They are not a testament of how long I have blogged and journalled. It is never my intention to boast about how I was the first few to jump into the blogging bandwagon or to substantiate this pioneering thingy to justify my voice about the local blog scene.
It is not how you start the race, but how you end it that matters. And for that matter, life is bigger and more colourful than blogging or my journal.
I just want to live out my life well, no matter how bad a start I had. And if along the way, this site of mine gets better or receives some form of recognition, all the better. It is just a bonus.
Everything I do is just a bonus. It is who I will be at the end of it all that is important.
To commemorate AOT's fourth year of existence, I am toying with the idea of publishing my second zine. Primarily, it will simply be a little collection of sorts of all the good short stories that I have published on this site and, as a bonus of sorts, one which never got published.
Of course, before I start work on that, there is this little matter of completing the previous entry.
